Jane Ratan always knew she wanted to work in a public institution. “When I saw the job posting at CBE, I knew I had to apply. This position is a perfect fit for me as CSULA/CBE is a public institution and I know my background in admission has prepared me for this role.”
With past experience as a Manager of Admissions at National University and in the LAUSD, Jane has always been driven by one thing: being able to serve her students. CBE in particular “is like a family” to her.
“I love working with my students. I am so lucky that I have an opportunity to help students and make a positive change in their life. I also love the people that I work with.” That same altruism applies to her home life, where she spends much of her time volunteering at a dog rescue organization.
Most people don’t know that Jane has also won a singing contest in college and played in a band for many years. In fact, she taught herself how to play the guitar.
Jane hopes to one day retire and travel the world with her husband. Her bucket list includes: The Great Wall of China, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and one of the Onsens in Japan.
