Connections, the university newsletter, reports that Dr. Devika Hazra from the Department of Economics and Statistics has been awarded a grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to support a new career preparation program in the College of Business and Economics. “Removing Barriers to Employment for First Generation Graduates” will offer a series of workshops led by faculty, alumni, and industry professionals for students at Cal State LA and East Los Angeles College. The program will cover career goal planning, résumé building, networking, effective communication, and professional development.
