Come Meet Legislators and CPA Leaders at the Capitol with CalCPA
It's never too early to make a good first impression! For our student members, CPA Day at the Capitol offers an incredible opportunity to speak with state legislators and mingle with CPA leaders. You'll be building invaluable relationships while advocating for the profession.
Marlon Pasamba (pictured), who attended CPA Day 2014 as a student member says, "As accounting students, we tend to solely focus on our studies. However, it's important to realize that accounting is a heavily regulated profession. CPA Day at the Capitol will fill that void. It helped me realize how important it is for CPAs to take an active role in the profession. Thus, by participating in this great event, you will be able to observe, first-hand, how seasoned CPAs exude leadership and how they use their negotiation skills to support/oppose a proposed bill that will impact the profession.
