What is Global Entrepreneurship Week?
Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them take the next step in their entrepreneurial journey. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.
What is GEW at Cal State L.A? 
Each year the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and ECCO participate in GEW on the Cal State L.A. campus. Open to all students, the Center, supported by the College of Business and Economics and other groups on campus hold events in support of GEW.

We had an exciting line-up of events and discussions around campus, culminating in Startup Weekend.
Monday, Nov. 17 – Celebrating Innovation - 3:15-6:00, Location: USU Pasadena Room 307
Innovation Fair showcasing student and faculty innovation across campus. Walk-through displays and presentations of cutting edge design and information.
Tuesday Nov. 18 – Startup Success – 5:00-6:30, Location: USU San Gabriel Room 313
How do I start and launch a successful venture? Some answers and great ideas will be shared during this informative panel of speakers that have been there, done that. Now they will be at Cal State L.A. to help you! Reception 5:00-5:30, Panel 5:30 to 6:30.
Wednesday Nov. 19 – Women Entrepreneur’s Leadership Panel – 5:00-6:30 p.m., Location: USU Pasadena Room 307
Panelists: Phoebe Beasley, Artist, Lecturer, Entrepreneur; Dimple Thakkar, Founder/CEO SYNHERGY MARKETING, LLC and others celebrate women’s entrepreneurship day and discuss their success and how you can achieve your dreams. Reception 5:00-5:30, Panel 5:30 to 6:30.
Thursday Nov. 20 – Entrepreneurship Student Job Fair – 3:00-5:00 p.m., Location: Annenberg Room - 132A
Bring your resume and dressed to succeed to meet recruiters from companies that want to hire students with entrepreneurial interests and talents.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Nov. 21-23) StartUp Weekend at Cal State L.A. 
Join facilitators, Barney Santos, CBE and Mylen Yamamoto, A&L, in a 54-hour intensive learning experience to develop ideas, startup and launch a successful venture. Work with experienced entrepreneurs as mentors and facilitators.
