Mission

The Cal State LA Nursing Alumni Network exists to support the mission of the California State University, Los Angeles and the Patricia A. Chin School of Nursing in their efforts to transform individual lives and build stronger and healthier communities through scholarship, research, and proactive community engagement. We also serve the alumni through establishing opportunities to reunite, engage, and network with a community of nursing professionals in order to contribute and advance the art and science of the profession of Nursing.

Dr. Chin earned a Diploma in Nursing from Capital City School of Nursing, D.C. General Hospital, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Doctor of Nursing Science from the University of San Diego. She is a member of the Cal State LA NuMu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Click here to read more about Dr. Chin.

Infection Preventionist, Keck Medicine of USC


Preciosa Marasigan is the Infection Preventionist at Keck Medicine of USC. She coordinates organization-wide infection prevention programs, including surveillance, prevention activities, data collection, analysis, trending, and staff education. She serves as a resource and consultant for all departments and services regarding infection prevention issues. Preciosa has over 10 years of leadership and management experience in her field and currently serves as President of the Coastline Chapter of the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from California State University, Los Angeles. Learn more about Preciosa.

With decades of collective experience in nursing professional development, Dr. Tayyeb and Dr.Recinos will guide a discussion that will inform, motivate, and empower nurses in taking the next step into their professional careers.
