The Cal State LA Nursing Alumni Network exists to support the mission of the California State University, Los Angeles and the Patricia A. Chin School of Nursing in their efforts to transform individual lives and build stronger and healthier communities through scholarship, research, and proactive community engagement. We also serve the alumni through establishing opportunities to reunite, engage, and network with a community of nursing professionals in order to contribute and advance the art and science of the profession of Nursing.
Dr. Tayyeb is a United States Navy Veteran, having served as a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman with Naval Medical Center San Diego, 1st Marine Division, and 3rd Marine Division. After his military service, Dr. Tayyeb pursued his career as a Registered Nurse, earning his Bachelors and Masters degree in Nursing from California State University, Los Angeles and his Ph.D. from the University of San Diego. Dr. Tayyeb’s experiences in the healthcare field include combat trauma, emergency medicine, education, Human Patient Simulation, professional development, Leadership, Veterans healthcare, and policy. This session is designed to inform both novice and experienced nurses in the professional development of self and others in nursing. The next steps of professional development can often be difficult and guidance to do so scarce. With decades of collective experience in nursing professional development, Dr. Tayyeb and Dr.Recinos will guide a discussion that will inform, motivate, and empower nurses in taking the next step into their professional careers.
