Maida Lopez is a systems engineer for the Boeing Defense, Space and Security organization. Maida draws on a wide range of technical expertise that she has gained through project experience with network systems, information security, systems testing, and the design and development of core infrastructures. As a first-generation college graduate, she has a profound appreciation for education and a sense of responsibility for helping underprivileged students gain access to life-changing resources. She has facilitated strong partnerships with Boeing and Cal State LA and is responsible for leading the Boeing effort in scholarship selection, various seminars, the Hispanic Engineering National Achievement and Awards Conference (HENAAC) College Bowl, and the technical poster competition. Maida was engaged during her time at Cal State LA, she was President for the Society of Women organization 2001-2002, active in SHESS/SHPE (now a lifetime member of SHPE) and IEEE member. Maida holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cal State LA and a Master of Science degree in Information System and Technology from Claremont Graduate University.
