Next Steps for Returning Students
Complete the steps below by the required deadlines to keep your admission offer and enroll in classes.
If you decide not to attend, you will need to withdraw from all courses. Students who do not enroll may need to reapply for a future term.
Accept our offer of admission by submitting your $100 (USD) Enrollment Confirmation Deposit (ECD).
ECD Deadlines
- May 1 for fall admission
- November 1 for spring admission

Your MyCalStateLA ID is required to log in to the myCalStateLA portal - your access to a range of University services, including your student email and GET (Golden Eagle Territory).
GET is where you view updates from University offices, register for classes, check your financial aid status and handle other student business.

If you are returning to Cal State LA after disqualification, please make sure you are on track to meet the terms of your readmission as outlined in the readmission petition from your academic department. Failure to do so may affect your subsequent continued enrollment at the University.
If you've attended other colleges besides Cal State LA, review your transfer credit evaluation in your GET Self-Service Student Center.
If transfer credit is missing, submit the official final transcript from that college to the Admissions Office. If you took courses via Cal State LA Open University, you do NOT need to send us a Cal State LA transcript.
Submit all required official transcripts within 30 days of your admission notification to avoid delays.

New Transfers and returning students are required to attend First Flight Orientation. The experience will prepare you for the transition to the university and includes academic advising help with registering for classes.
Invitations to create a First Flight Orientation profile will be sent out to admitted students who have submitted their Enrollment Confirmation Deposit (ECD), beginning in October for spring admitted students; and in December for fall admitted students.
All First Flight reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Orientation sessions for spring admitted students will take place in December; and for fall admitted students over the summer.

The California State University (CSU) requires all students to be up to date on immunizations and to complete tuberculosis risk assessment per CSU Executive Order 803. Learn more on the Student Health Center immunization page.
International Students
International students need to apply for their I-20 or SEVIS Transfer
- Activate Your Cal State LA Email: Activate your Cal State LA email account as soon as possible. Important updates about your admission and immigration documents will be sent there. myCalStateLA portal.
- Expect an Email from Us: After admission, International Student & Scholar Services will contact you with instructions for obtaining or updating your immigration documents. This email will contain detailed instructions on how to upload the required documents for your I-20 or SEVIS transfer.
- Prepare Your Documents: Gather the following documents so you're ready when contacted.
- A copy of your Passport Biographical Page
- Financial Sponsor information and a copy of their recent bank statement (or other official letters of financial support/guarantee/scholarship)
- If you're currently studying in the US, also prepare:
- A copy of your current Visa stamp
- A copy of I-94
- A copy of your I-20 or DS-2019
- Employment Authorization Document (EAD), if applicable
