Returning Transfers who took classes elsewhere
- If offered admission, and when requested to do so, submit official transcripts from every college you attended after leaving Cal State LA.
- For fall admission, include grades through the previous fall term.
- For spring admission, include grades through the previous summer term.

Returning Students who have been away from Cal State LA for more than 3 years
You will need to resubmit your official transcripts (and if any, test scores).
- If you first entered Cal State LA as a freshman, you may be asked to resubmit your high school transcript.
- If you first transferred to Cal State LA as a lower-division transfer student, you may need to resubmit your high school transcript and college transcripts from all schools attended (excluding Cal State LA).
- If you first transferred to Cal State LA as an upper-division transfer student, you may need to resubmit your college transcripts from all schools attended (excluding Cal State LA).
Admissions Timeline for Returning Students
After all required documents are received by the Office of Admissions and Recruitment, please allow 6-8 weeks for review. An admission decision will be sent to your preferred email address.
Fall Applicants
- Admission decisions begin being released in January.
Spring Applicants
- Admission decisions begin being released in November.

- Get connected! Instructions on how to activate your MyCalStateLA ID and enable 2-Step Verification were emailed to you.
- Once set up, you can access your MyCalStateLA portal to access GET (Golden Eagle Territory) and your campus email.

Log in to your myCalStateLA portal and access your GET Student Center to:
- View your GET To Do list
- See university messages in the Communication Center
- Update your directory information, including your preferred email, mailing address, and phone number

Can I appeal the admission decision?
Yes. If you believe your application was denied by mistake, you can submit an appeal.
- You must submit your appeal within 15 days of receiving your denial notice.
- Be sure to include your reason for appealing and any transcripts and test scores that support your case.
