The Division of Academic Affairs supports telecommuting when the campus determines that telecommuting is operationally feasible and is in the best interest of the University. Such instances for telecommuting work arrangements may be considered when there are opportunities for improved operational performance, or as part of a disaster recovery or emergency plan.
Summer 2025: Applicants may request no more than two telecommuting days from June 16, 2025, through Friday, August 15, 2025.
Fall 2025 and Spring 2026: Applicants may request no more than one telecommuting day, beginning in the fourth week of the semester; applicable dates are from, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, through Friday, May 22, 2026.
Staff Instructions for Completing Telecommuting Application

Completing the Telecommuting Agreement is a multi-step process that involves the applicant, Dean/designee, Review Committee, Vice Provost, and Human Resources Management.
First-Time Applicants
- Read pages 1 and 2.
- Download the Revised May 2025 Application .
Renewal Applicants
- Read pages 3 and 4.
- Download the Revised May 2025 Application.
- New Submission Process - Staff submit the telecommuting application to their Dean or designee.
First Time Telecommuting Applicants
- Download the Revised May 2025 AA Telecommute Application
- Complete the Telecommuter Information Section (page 1) electronically. The telecommuting address and phone number should be your telecommuting address and mobile number, not the campus address.
Do not complete the Telecommuter Work Schedule since your Dean/Designee is responsible for completing this after consulting with your supervisor.
- The Telecommuting Start Date needs to be at least one full work week after the application submission date.

- Two-Day Telecommuting Summer Agreements: Applicants may request to telecommute two days a week during the summer. If approved, all two-day telecommuting agreements will end on Friday, August 15, 2025.
- One-Day Telecommuting Fall and Spring Agreements: Applicants may request to telecommute one day a week during the Fall and Spring terms. If approved, all one-day telecommuting agreements will end on Friday, May 22, 2026.
- There will be NO TELECOMMUTING during the first three weeks of instruction during the Fall and Spring semesters.
- Fall: August 18 through August 29, 2025
- Spring: January 20 through February 6, 2026v
- Review your telecommuting workspace for all items in the Telecommuter’s Home Safety Checklist section (page 2). Check off items on the checklist to indicate your agreement that your telecommuting workspace meets each expectation.
- Read page 4 of the telecommuting application. The teleworker expectations page, previously listed on the website, is now part of the application.
- Send the Telecommuting Agreement via email to the Dean/designee without any signatures. You will be the last person to sign after HR approves your application. The signed agreement will be placed in your personnel file.

Policy Information
The University has elected to opt-in to the systemwide CSUEU and APC Telecommuting Agreements. These agreements were negotiated by the Chancellor's Office in partnership with campus leaders, staff, and unions across the CSU system. Telecommuting for MPP and Confidential employees will be managed under the guidelines set forth in the CSUEU Telecommuting Agreement.
Management Training
The Division of Administration & Finance will offer telecommuting training sessions for MPPs supervising staff with telecommuting agreements in place. This covers best practices for promoting a positive and productive telecommuting experience for the staff member and the MPP supervisor.
