Teacher Training Program

Each year, graduate students in the MFA in Television, Film and Theatre who meet the criteria listed below, can apply to participate in the Teacher Training Third year graduate student in She Kills Monsters.  Program for their specific Option (Acting, Content Creation, Writing).
 
Accepted applicants will enroll in the appropriate section of the course TA 5100 Projects in Teaching (1 unit) for each semester of training.
 
Successful completion of course, along with other criteria, will qualify the student to be considered for a paid position as a Teaching Associate.
 
Criteria to Apply for Teacher Training Program
  • Successfully completed all 1st year course work
  • Successfully passed the end-of-the-year Student Performance Review
  • Received an official Program invitation to continue into the 2nd year
  • Be a fully enrolled student (enrolled in a minimum of 8 units or Thesis Project/Thesis Report courses)
  • Have a minimum 3.5 GPA*

*If your GPA drops below the required minimum to qualify for this program, you may be disqualified from entering or continuing in this Teacher Training Program

Application Guidelines, Procedure and Timeline
Prepare the following documents to upload with your application Application webforms will be available soon - please check back.
  • Cover Letter: 1-2 pages expanding on your interest in participating in this program and qualifications (prior training, background, experience)
  • Resume (educational background, prior teaching experience (if any), production experience (university level and/or professional)
  • 2 Letters of Recommendation: 1 must be from a current TVFT faculty member (full-time or part-time) and the other may be either from a faculty and/or professional in the field
Graduate Students accepted into the Teacher Training Program will be considered for paid Teaching Associate positions for the following undergraduate courses:
