Information and Application for Teacher Training Program/Writing Option
Training Includes:
- Enrollment in TA 5100 Projects in Teaching (1 unit) during each of the four training semester(s).
- Semester 1: trainees attend and observe TVF 2650 (Introduction to Scriptwriting) lectures and labs of; debriefing and discussion during weekly two-hour meetings; reading of screenplays and pedagogical texts; viewing and analysis of short films; and, completion of a teaching journal.
- Semester 2: trainees attend and observe TVF 2650 labs; two praxis teaching lessons with supervision and feedback for pedagogical progress; debriefing and discussion during weekly two-hour meetings; reading of screenplays and pedagogical texts; viewing and analysis of short films; learning how to be an effective screenwriting educator; completion of a teaching journal.
TEACHING ASSOCIATE POSITION
Students who successfully complete this training course will be considered for paid positions as a Teaching Associate to then teach a section of an undergraduate TVFM Department course.
