Congratulations on reaching this stage of your educational journey. We are excited that you have chosen Cal State LA as your university home.
Cal State LA offers First Flight (our new student orientation program) during the winter (January) for students admitted for the Spring 2027 semester and in the summer (July/August) for students admitted for the Fall 2027 semester.
Once you have been conditionally admitted, you will have the opportunity to pay your Enrollment Confirmation Deposit. This is the next important step in journey into Cal State LA.
New transfer and returning students admitted for Spring 2027 will begin receiving email invitation to sign up for First Flight beginning in October 2026. Students admitted to the Fall 2027 term will begin receiving email invitations in February 2027. Please follow the steps in the email to complete your First Flight Orientation reservation.

- This is the First Flight date for ALL students in the colleges of Engineering, Computer Science & Technology (ECST) and Ethnic Studies (CES).
In-person First Flight sessions take place on the campus of Cal State LA.
Limited spaces are available for students who live outside of the local area, will be out of the state or country during all of the above-listed dates, or have a personal circumstance resulting in your being physically unable to attend an in-person session.
Remote sessions take place live over Zoom; available spaces are based on your major/college and are first come, first served.

Please note that academic advising and course enrollment will take place in a separate session.
Orientation Tours not only take you around the campus, but they will also highlight where your fall classes will be located! After you have finished enrolling in classes, sign up for an Orientation Tour. There is no charge for this activity, but a reservation is required (RSVPs open in July 2026).
