Family Weekend '26 is an exciting opportunity for families, supporters, and loved ones to experience campus life alongside their Golden Eagle. To help you prepare for your visit, we've compiled answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about registration, parking, accommodations, activities, and more. We look forward to welcoming you to campus for a memorable weekend filled with connection, celebration, and Golden Eagle pride!

The inaugural Cal State LA Family Weekend brings students, families, and the community together for a fun and engaging celebration. Enjoy a lively gameday tailgate with food, music, and school spirit before cheering on the National Champion Golden Eagle Volleyball team. Explore mock classrooms for a glimpse into campus academics, and experience dynamic student performances showcasing music, dance, and more. We invite you to stroll through a community farmers market filled with art and local goods, which is a campus tradition. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect, explore, and celebrate the Golden Eagle community.

As part of your event badge, simply unclip the designated portion of your badge and bring it to the Redeem Your Tailgate Meal table located outside the University Gym. You'll be able to choose from the available food vendors and redeem your meal at the vendor of your choice. Be sure to keep your badge with you throughout the event so you can easily claim your meal.

Absolutely! We encourage families to bring their little future Golden Eagles to Family Weekend. Many of our events and activities are designed to be family-friendly, offering fun and engaging experiences for guests of all ages. From interactive games and crafts to campus traditions and special programs, there will be plenty of opportunities for younger children, siblings, and family members to enjoy the weekend alongside their student.

Prior to Family Weekend, you will receive an email with instructions on how to register your vehicle and obtain your parking permit. Please complete the parking registration process before leaving your vehicle. Parking regulations will be enforced throughout the weekend, and vehicles without a valid permit may be subject to citation. Be sure to check your email and follow all instructions to ensure a smooth arrival on campus.

No matter the count, whether 1 or 5, all family packages are $100. We encourage families to bring up to 5 members to Family Weekend '26 to take advantage of all perks. Members can be family, friends, significant others, neighbors, etc.

Friday

  • Pick up my family package at Cal State LA, inside the University-Student Union, to skip the line on Saturday

Saturday

  • 10AM        attend Opening remarks
  • 10:15AM   visit U-SU Game Room
  • 10:40AM   walk through the community farmer's market
  • 11AM        watch a student performance at the U-SU Plaza
  • 11:30AM   attend Community Conversation Alumni Panel
  • 12:30PM   visit the Gameday Tailgate + redeem my event meal
  • 2PM          watch the Women's Volleyball match

Sunday

  • 2:30PM   attend The Rent Play hosted by the Theater and Dance Department
