These valuable groups and workshops help students develop and maintain healthy strategies and skills for addressing life's challenges. The privacy of all disclosures by clients in workshops and groups is protected by state and federal laws and the Cal State LA Student Conduct Code.

CPR Training

The Health Promotion and Education Center offers American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver CPR AED and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers courses for current Cal State LA students and employees. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required for all CPR trainings. Call the Center at 323.343.3340.

BLS and Heartsaver CPR and AED courses start at 9:00 a.m. on the scheduled date and are 4.5-5 hours in length. HeartCode® BLS sessions are conducted by appointment and session length is approximately 3 hours.

CPR, first aid, and AED training are available throughout the community. You may find other training sites by calling the American Heart Association (AHA) at 877.AHA.4CPR (877.242.4277)or visiting the AHA's ECC Class Connector. In addition, the American Heart Association has a line of e-learning programs. Visit OnlineAHA for additional information.

All prospective training participants should verify their training requirements with their academic department, internship/volunteer placement site, and/or employer.

AHA strongly promotes knowledge & proficiency in BLS, ACLS, & PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by AHA. Any fees charged for this course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course material, do not represent income to AHA.

Eat Healthy, Be Active Workshop Series

Offered via Zoom, this series can help you meet your nutrition and fitness goals. Join us for this 4-session nutrition and physical activity workshop series! A different topic each session! 

Wellness Workshop Series

For your health and well-being, the Student Health Center's Health Promotion and Education Center will offer a variety of healthy living workshops via Zoom. For workshop descriptions, dates and times, please check back or contact the Health Promotion and Education Center at 323.343.3340.
