A map of different cities in Los Angeles
The Southeast Los Angeles (SELA) Initiative is a multi-year endeavor designed to develop the regional influence of specified communities and cities within the broader area.  The Initiative seeks to revitalize the landscape of civic engagement in Southeast Los Angeles County and, as a result, refresh the policy decision-making environment in the region.

Where is SELA?
SELA includes the SELA Collaborative’s service area — Bell, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Cudahy, Florence-Firestone, Huntington Park, Lynwood, Maywood, South Gate, Vernon, and Walnut Park. For the purposes of the study area, SELA additionally consists of adjacent communities such as Commerce, Compton, East Compton, East Los Angeles, Rancho Dominguez, East Rancho Dominguez, and Paramount.
