Heather Lattimer, Ed.D.
Heather Lattimer, Ed.D., is the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at California State University, Los Angeles, where she leads academic strategy and faculty initiatives. She previously held leadership roles in higher education, including as dean at San José State University’s Connie L. Lurie College of Education. Lattimer’s work focuses on equity, community engagement, and expanding access to underserved student populations.

Sascha Brown Rice
Sascha Brown Rice is an award-winning filmmaker and author of the best-selling book, The Story Cycle Method: A Practical Playbook for Writers and Dreamers. Her work has screened internationally and her documentary California State of Mind: The Legacy of Pat Brown aired on Netflix and PBS. She serves on The PBI advisory board and is the granddaughter of former Governor Pat Brown.
Adam Countee
Adam Countee is a Los Angeles–based television writer and producer whose credits include the critically acclaimed Apple TV+ series Severance, where he serves as a co-executive producer and writer. He has worked across genres on TV shows like Silicon Valley, The Shrink Next Door, and Never Have I Ever, earning multiple industry nominations for his work. Countee began his career in entertainment after studying English and has roots in writing, acting, and producing for both television and new media.
Ana Guerrero
Ana Guerrero is a seasoned political and organizational strategist who served as Chief of Staff to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, where she helped advance major policy initiatives and manage city operations. After decades in government and community organizing, she now works as a principal consultant advising leaders and organizations on strategy and public policy. Guerrero is known for her leadership in civic engagement, coalition-building, and public service in Los Angeles.
Eva Ho
Eva Ho is a veteran venture capitalist and entrepreneur best known as a co-founder and former General Partner of Los Angeles-based seed fund Fika Ventures, where she helped back early-stage technology companies and build a more inclusive West Coast startup ecosystem. Prior to Fika, she was a founding general partner at Susa Ventures and held key roles in technology and startup leadership, including senior product marketing at Google/YouTube and founding executive positions at companies like Factual and Navigating Cancer. Ho is also a founding member of All Raise, serves on multiple nonprofit and startup boards, and holds degrees from Harvard and Cornell.

President and Executive Director, Asian Americans Advancing Justice
Stewart Kwoh is a prominent Los Angeles attorney, educator, and civil rights leader, best known as the founding President and Executive Director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Los Angeles. Throughout his career, he has championed legal services, immigrant rights, and coalition-building across communities of color. Kwoh has also been an educator and held leadership roles in several philanthropic and civic organizations.
State Sen. Sasha Renée Pérez
Sasha Renée Pérez is a Democratic California State Senator representing the 25th District, elected in 2024 as one of the youngest members of the chamber and chair of the Senate Education Committee. She previously served as mayor and councilmember of Alhambra and built her career on expanding college access, advocating for reproductive rights, and championing education and community policy. Pérez is a first-generation college graduate from Cal State Los Angeles and continues to focus on social justice, economic opportunity, and constituent-centered legislation. She is a former member of the PBI staff.
Sarah Pillsbury
Sarah Pillsbury is a Los Angeles–based film producer known for her work in both documentaries and feature films, including the Academy Award–winning short Board and Care and notable features like Desperately Seeking Susan. A co-founder of Sanford/Pillsbury Productions, she also produced the Emmy-winning HBO film And the Band Played On and has been deeply involved in social justice philanthropy. Pillsbury helped found the Liberty Hill Foundation, which supports grassroots organizing and progressive causes in Southern California.
Nathaniel Trives
President, Coalition for Engaged Education
Nathaniel “Nat” Trives is a long-time Santa Monica community leader, educator, and former politician who served on the Santa Monica City Council and was the city’s first African-American mayor. After a career in public service and law enforcement, he became a professor emeritus of criminal justice at Santa Monica College and California State University, Los Angeles. Trives has remained active in civic and community organizations, championing education, civil rights, and local engagement.
Steven Windmueller,
Ph.D.
Emeritus Dean and Professor, Hebrew Union College
Steven F. Windmueller, Ph.D. is an American Jewish communal scholar and professor emeritus at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles. His academic work centers on American Jewish politics, communal affairs, and anti-Semitism, and he has written extensively on these subjects. Windmueller also serves on various boards and contributes to public discourse on Jewish community trends.

Gennesis Nuyens
Gennesis is a fourth-year student pursuing a B.A. in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavioral Analysis. She also serves as the ASI Vice President for External Affairs and a Peer Health Specialist for the Choos-Well Committee with SHAC. She hopes to pursue a JD/MSW to continue her work in advocacy and education policy. She is passionate about providing resources, including basic needs, professional development, and support for educators in primary education, and is a firm believer in investing in the next generation so they can succeed in higher education. Her passion for education policy was inspired by the lived experience as a first-generation student and her appreciation for educators who took the time to explain the education system to her and her family.

James R. Galbraith
James R. Galbraith is a Los Angeles-area civic leader and former senior vice president of corporate affairs for Hilton Hotels Corporation. He has a diverse background in journalism, government, and corporate communications, and has served on boards including the Conrad N. Hilton Fund for Sisters and the jury for the Hilton Humanitarian Prize. Galbraith is a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, and his endowment supports the James R. Galbraith Fellowship in public policy at the Pat Brown Institute.
Hon. Kathleen A. Kelly
Judge, Superior Court of California
Hon. Kathleen A. Kelly served as a judge on the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, from her appointment by Governor Gray Davis in 2003 until her retirement in 2025 after more than 21 years on the bench. During her distinguished judicial career, she presided over hundreds of civil and criminal trials, led innovative collaborative courts including the Family Treatment Court, and earned recognition such as the 2024 Trial Judge of the Year award. Since retiring from the bench, she has continued her legal work as a mediator and arbitrator, drawing on her deep experience in dispute resolution and collaborative problem-solving.
