NSS Honors Convocation 2020

Welcome to the 2021 Honors Convocation and congratulations to all the awardees! Though this year's celebration is altered to an online format due to the events of the past year, NSS staff, faculty, and administrators are proud to recognize your accomplishment. On this page, the Dean's List recipients will find congratulatory messages from Dean Scott-Johnson, Capri Maddox, executive director of the Los Angeles Department of Civil and Human Rights and NSS alum, and video messages from your respective department chairs. Additionally, a PowerPoint video displaying the names of Dean's List awardees, Honors College honorees, and graduate studies honorees, is also featured.

Description of University Honors

Dean’s List: Undergraduates who earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in 12 or more units of graded course work in one semester are named to the Dean’s List. Students who receive NC for any coursework in the semester under consideration are not eligible to be named to the Dean’s List for that semester.

Honors College: Awarded to Honors College students who have been placed on the Dean’s List and have demonstrated a commitment to scholarship and civic engagement.

Special Recognition in Graduate Studies: Awarded to selected graduate students who have earned a grade point average of 3.8 or higher, have completed at least 80% of their program, and have received special recommendations by their department.
