Abstract:

Attracting and retaining talent is necessary for organizations to thrive. However, effectively managing talent is becoming more difficult as several barriers including an ageing workforce, increased global mobility, and the rise of the knowledge worker are hampering managerial efforts. This paper explores the Chinese talent management literature, and recommends managers focus on individual development plans, strengthen relationships with subordinates and recruit employees through weak ties to improve talent management..
