Teaching Interests

Somak’s teaching interests are in Business Statistics, Marketing Research and Marketing Analytics. Somak has taught courses on Principles of Marketing, Business Statistics, Marketing Research, and Marketing Strategy (capstone course for marketing majors undergraduates students).

Research Interests

Arun Aryal

I am an assistant professor of Management Information Systems at California State University Los Angeles (CSULA) where I teach graduate and undergraduate courses on Information Systems and Analytics. Prior to CSULA, I worked as a Teaching Fellow for Georgia State University (GSU) where I was part of the team that designed GSU’s enterprise systems concentrations within the computer information systems major. I am the recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award (2014 & 2015). My research focuses on the intersection of emerging technologies, analytics, and enterprise systems

Melanie Sabado-Liwag

INTRODUCTION

Dr. Melanie Sabado-Liwag is an Associate Professor and Director of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at California State University-Los Angeles. She received a Ph.D. in Health Promotion Sciences at the School of Community & Global Health at Claremont Graduate University, MPH at California State University-Fullerton, and postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities at NIH in Bethesda, Maryland.

Mine Ucok Hughes

 

Mine Ucok Hughes, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Marketing at California State University, Los Angeles since Fall 2017. Previously, she taught at Woodbury University in Burbank, California, University of Southern Denmark in Odense, and Bilkent University in Turkey.

Dr. Ucok Hughes was the Director of MBA and MSBA Programs and the Faculty Coordinator of the FEMBA Program between Fall 2022 and Fall 2024. She also served as the Associate Chair of the Department of Marketing in AY 2023-24.

Maryam Tofighi


Dr. Maryam Tofighi joined the College of Business and Economics at Cal State LA as an Assistant Professor of Marketing. Maryam earned her Ph.D. in Marketing from Concordia University, Canada. Her primary research and teaching interests are in the areas of marketing analytics, marketing research, sustainability, and social responsibility in marketing, retailing and merchandising, consumer behavior, and brand management.

Maria Y Hernandez

INTRODUCTION

Dr. Hernandez obtained her Ph.D. from the UC Berkeley, School of Social Welfare and an MSW degree from the University of Southern California. She participated in the USC Provost’s Program for Faculty Diversity in Informatics & Digital Knowledge. Dr. Hernandez has continuously studied mental health disparities and culturally competent treatment for underserved groups.

Dr. Shilpa Balan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems in the College of Business and Economics at California State University, Los Angeles. Dr. Balan earned her PhD degree in Management Information Systems from University of Mississippi, focusing on Data Mining and Data Analytics. Professor Balan is very passionate about Business Analytics, and teaches Business Intelligence and Information Systems courses.
