Professor Emeritus and Founding Director, School of Social Work and Master of Social Work Program, College of Health and Human Services

Dr. Anderson is the recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Alumnus Award granted at the Cal State Alumni Gala in 2011 by then President James Rosser.  

Akbar Torbat

 

INTRODUCTION

Akbar E. Torbat began teaching at California State University, Los Angeles, in 1989. He has also taught at the University of California - Los Angeles, the University of Southern California, and several other CSU campuses. He has taught Economic Development, Comparative Economic Systems, International Economics, International Finance, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Economics for the Citizens, Money and Banking, and a number of other courses. Professor Torbat has also served as a financial advisor for a number of years.

Jason O'Neill

Introduction:     

I grew up in Berkeley, California and attended the University of California, Los Angeles for my undergraduate studies. After graduating in 2017, I pursued a Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of California, San Diego. At UC San Diego, I was very fortunate to be advised by Jacques Verstraete and wrote my dissertation on "The combinatorics of intersecting set systems", which I successfully defended in 2022.

John Cooper

INTRODUCTION

John began his professional accounting career at Ernst & Young in the emerging business group. This experience included audit, tax, and consulting with newly formed business organizations. He then transitioned to his own firm which provided tax, accounting, valuation, and litigation services. Prior to coming to CSULA he was an adjunct professor at San Diego State University teaching individual and corporate tax classes as well as business reporting for accountants and financial and managerial accounting. 

Dr. Pamella Howell

INTRODUCTION

Dr. Howell earned her Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she also completed a Master’s in Business Administration and a Masters in Information Systems. She is a former Adjunct Instructor in the School of Management at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Howell completed a one-year tenure as a National Institute of Health Postdoctoral Fellow in the Biomedical Informatics Department at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
