Undergraduate Advising
The department provides advisement for undergraduate students who have declared or changed their major to English and to incoming transfer students. Undergraduate students should plan to meet with an adviser initially to review university and department requirements and to set up a program of study. Subsequent appointments with a departmental adviser are strongly encouraged to plan schedules and ensure progress towards the degree.
For questions about university requirements and general education, undergraduate English majors can also take advantage of the College of Arts and Letters advisement center. College advisers can help with planning lower division and general education courses and with questions about university requirements and services. Questions about the degree requirements in English should, however, be directed to an English Department adviser.
