Credit for Prior Learning

Examples have been added to demonstrate how to complete the Articulation and Credit for Prior Learning Request Form for different types of CPL, including examinations, military education and training, professional certifications and licenses, and other approved learning experiences.

These samples are provided for guidance only.  Please complete the form using information specific to the request being submitted.

 

Cal State LA CPL Request Process
 
1.  Complete the Articulation and Credit for Prior Learning Request Form.  
2.  Attach supporting documentation, such as an ACE Military Guide exhibit, examination information, or industry
     credential documentation.
3.  Upon submission, OnBase will automatically send a confirmation to both the submitter and the Articulation
     Officer.
4.  The Articulation Office will enter the request into Curriculog for review by the appropriate faculty and 
     department chair. 
5.  Approved requests will be documented in the Transfer Evaluation System (TES) and forwarded to the
     Registrar’s Office for creation of the articulation rules and implementation in GET.
6.  Approved course equivalencies may be viewed in the TES Public View by selecting the Transfer
     Equivalencies tab and then selecting Credit for Prior Learning (CPL).

Submitting a request does not guarantee approval or the awarding of course credit.
