Project 1. Novel antibiotic drug discovery employing bacterial functional genomics, chemical genomics, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbial genetics and physiology approaches.
Project 2. Mechanisms of antibiotic resistance and virulence and discovery of therapeutic agents targeting resistance or virulence processes.
Our research projects have been funded by grants from Cal State L.A., CSUPERB, National Institutes of Health, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense and Department of Education.
