The Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs and the California Community Foundation (CCF) developed a community survey of six major regional recovery hubs in Los Angeles County which include: Antelope Valley, San Fernando Valley, San Gabriel Valley, Long Beach, South LA, and Southeast LA. The survey highlights the views and experiences of people in our communities during the pandemic and covers issues of daily life, critical concerns, community engagement, and post-pandemic recovery.

The survey was conducted from November 16, 2022, to January 14, 2023, and interviewed 3,000 Los Angeles County residents from the six regional recovery hubs. It was conducted by BSP Research under Matt Barreto, Ph.D., and funded by CCF. The Regional Hubs Survey applied innovative, community-based survey approaches to develop regional identities and amplify the voices of the community.

This project was designed with input from regional workings groups led by the following community organizations:

  • Active San Gabriel Valley
  • Antelope Valley Partners for Health
  • Centro Cha
  • Community Coalition
  • Pacoima Beautiful
  • SELA Collaborative
