Offered in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Cal State LA's SHRM Certification Prep+ Course Online Program prepares individuals for both the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP exams. Earning an SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential allows individuals to become recognized experts and leaders in the HR field by delivering a high level of knowledge and skills that benefit their organizations. This program is also for those individuals who need recertification credits required by SHRM, and those not interested in SHRM certification, but want to improve their HR skills and continue their professional development.

The SHRM Online Program is designed for human resource professionals who:
- The SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
- Wish to earn the recertification credits required by SHRM. Individuals enrolled in this program can earn up to 36 Professional Development Credits (PDCs).
- Want to improve/update their HR skills by gaining a generalist viewpoint, refreshing key ideas and concepts, strengthening their understanding of core behavior and technical competencies, and increasing productivity in the workplace.
- Want to increase their value in their workplace and/or in the global HR marketplace.
The SHRM Professional Program at Cal State LA Downtown prepares individuals for the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP exams. Upon completion of the program, eligible candidates will be better prepared to take their SHRM exams and achieve career success.
Cal State LA's SHRM Online Program uses a curriculum designed by global subject matter experts and covers the entire SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge® (SHRM BASK®). Expert instruction, encouragement, and peer discussion, combined with the best exam preparation system, will result in individuals learning and retaining the material effectively and efficiently.

The cost for the SHRM Online Program is $1,349.
The program cost includes electronic course materials. The electronic course materials will be emailed to you during the first week of the program.
Federal financial aid is not currently available for the SHRM Online Program. However, you can apply for a private student loan.
