Society for Human Resource Management Professional Program in Downtown LA

Offered in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the SHRM Professional Program at Cal State LA Downtown prepares individuals for both the Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) exams. Earning a SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential allows individuals to become recognized experts and leaders in the HR field by delivering a high level of knowledge and skills with distinct benefits to their organizations. This program is also for those individuals who need recertification credits required by SHRM, and for those not interested in SHRM certification, but simply want to improve their HR skills and continue their professional development. Cal State LA is a SHRM Top 20 Education Partner.

Who Should Enroll?
The SHRM Professional Program is designed for human resource professionals who:
- Seek SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
- Wish to earn the recertification credits required by SHRM. Individuals enrolled in this program can earn up to 36 Professional Development Credits (PDCs).
- Want to improve/update their HR skills by gaining a generalist viewpoint, refresh key ideas and concepts, strengthen their understanding of core behavior and technical competencies, and increase productivity in the workplace.
- Want to increase their value in their workplace and/or in the global HR marketplace.
Program Objectives
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Professional Program at Cal State LA Downtown prepares individuals for both the Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) exams. Upon completion of the program, those who are eligible will be better prepared to take their SHRM exams and achieve career success.

Program Curriculum
Cal State LA's SHRM Professional Program uses a curriculum designed by global subject matter experts and covers the entire SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge™ (SHRM BoCK™). Expert instruction, encouragement, and peer discussion, combined with the best exam preparation system, will result in individuals learning and retaining the material effectively and efficiently.

Tuition/Fees/Financial Assistance
The cost for the SHRM Professional Program is $1,349.
The program cost includes electronic course materials. The electronic course materials will be emailed to you during the first week of the program.
Federal financial aid is not currently available for the SHRM Exam Preparation Program. However, you can apply for a private student loan.
Program Schedule
The Spring 2023 Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Professional Program (February 7 to March 17) will meet via Zoom at the listed times and dates below. The instructor and participants will actively engage in live discussions and lectures. Login information will be emailed to registered participants a week before the program begins.

DEADLINE TO ENROLL EXTENDED: The registration deadline for the SHRM Professional Program is 6 p.m. on Monday, February 6. The College of Professional and Global Education (PaGE) Program Office will reach out to students the week the program begins to provide them with details including electronic course materials, syllabus, Zoom meeting link, etc.
Participants will receive a digital Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of the program.
