Academic advisement is a vital student resource that has been shown to contribute to student success. According to the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), advisement helps decrease the time to degree completion. Meeting with an advisor has also been shown to improve student academic performance while providing students with an opportunity to connect with the university on a one-on-one basis. Advisors at Cal State LA Downtown are available to support and work with you in the following areas:

•       Pre-admission advisement of transfer coursework

•       Semester course selection

•       Educating and advocating university academic policies and procedures

•       Drafting strategies for success

•       Meeting with students to support overall well-being

•       Facilitating referrals to other student support services

If you would like to schedule an advisement appointment at Cal State LA Downtown, please email Victor Iglesias or call 213-358-6570.
