Spring 2021 Laptop & Hotspot Loan Program

The Office of the Dean of Students is loaning laptops and hotspots to currently enrolled Cal State LA students to support their remote learning and classwork. Loaned equipment is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students and staff are required to wear face coverings and practice physical distancing during all curbside pickup and return appointments, in alignment with state and local COVID-19 guidelines. 


How to Apply

If you would like to borrow a laptop and or a hotspot, follow these steps:

Step 1: Sign Up  

To request a laptop, hotspot or both, you must submit an application. Be prepared to provide the following information:  

  • Cal State LA Email Address  
  • Full Name 
  • CIN  
  • Telephone # 
  • College 

You will be prompted to log in with your student MyCalStateLA login credentials (please do not use student work email addresses).  Provide us with a cell phone number so that we can contact you as needed for your appointment.

Step 2:  Reserve Your Pick-Up Day/Time 

After you submit an application, the direct link to reserve your pick-up day and time will be displayed in the confirmation message. Please sign up at least 48 hours prior to your selected date/time.  You should receive an email confirming your reservation.  We are currently offering the following curbside dates and times:

  • Tuesday, February 23, 9:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.  & 1:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 2,  9:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. & 1:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 9, 9:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. & 1:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 16, 9:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. & 1:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 23, 9:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. & 1:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 30, 9:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. & 1:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

Step 3: Arrive on Campus  

Arrive on time for your appointment.  The curbside pick-up will take place at the University-Student Union driveway at your confirmed appointment time. See Campus Map.

  • Bring your Cal State LA ID or CIN. 
  • Wear a face covering and stay in your vehicle.

Return Appointments

If you wish to return your loaned laptop, hotspot, or both because you have graduated, are no longer enrolled, or no longer wish to use the equipment, follow the steps below. 

Please note, the equipment must be functional and must be in the box it came in.   

Step 1: Return Form

Complete the Cal State LA Technology Return form

Be prepared to provide the following information:  

  • Cal State LA Email Address  
  • Full Name 
  • CIN  
  • Telephone # 
  • Equipment to be returned (Laptop/Hotspot or both) 
  • Reason for returning equipment (No longer needed/graduating) 

You will be prompted to log in with your student MyCalStateLA login credentials.  (Please do not use student work email addresses.)  Please provide us with a cell phone number so that we can contact you as needed for your appointment. 

Step 2:  Reserve Your Return Day/Time
