Laptop Loan Program

The Technology Loan application window for the 2021-2022 academic year has closed at this time.

If you are a new, incoming first year or transfer student for the fall 2022 semester, the application to receive a loaned device will re-open again before the start of the fall semester.

If you are taking courses during summer 2022, and need assistance with a technology loan, please email the Dean of Students Office.

Technology Pick-Up

Currently enrolled Cal State LA students can sign up to borrow a free laptop in order to be successful in their remote learning and classwork. Loaned equipment is distributed on a first-come-first-served basis. Students may request equipment by completing the steps below.   

STEP 1: SIGN UP

The Technology Loan application window for the 2021-2022 academic year has closed at this time.

If you are taking courses during summer 2022, and need assistance with a technology loan, please email the Dean of Students Office. 

STEP 2: SELECT YOUR PREFERRED IN-PERSON TIME RANGE

Technology distribution is located in the Dean of Students Office, located in the Student Services Building, on the fourth floor, room 4380.  Our technology loan team is available to assist students with their loaned technology requests and drop-offs during these times:

  • Mondays:  8 a.m. - 4 p.m. 

  • Tuesdays:  8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

  • Wednesdays:  8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

  • Thursdays:  8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

  • Fridays:  9 a.m. - 1 p.m. 

While completing the form, choose a day and time for pick-up. Please select an option that gives us at least 24 hours to prepare your equipment.  

Please note, you will not receive a confirmation email. This is not a confirmed appointment, but your preferred time to drop by the Dean of Students office to pick up your equipment.  If you miss your preferred pick-up time/date, you can come at any other scheduled session to get your loaned technology.  Please let the staff who assist you know that you missed your preferred pick-up session so they can quickly locate your technology request form.

STEP 3: ARRIVE ON CAMPUS

Technology distribution will take place in the Dean of Students Office, located in the Student Services Building (Campus Map), on the fourth-floor, room 4380.

STEP 4: REVIEW EQUIPMENT INSTRUCTIONS

After you’ve received your equipment, refer to the Equipment Instructions page for information on your laptop or hotspot. You will receive an email receipt with the due date from our University Library system confirming you have checked out your equipment. This email will be sent to the preferred email you have listed on your GET account.
