Dear Graduating Master’s Students,

Commencement is right around the corner, and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate this incredible milestone with you! As you prepare for this special day to receive the recognition you’ve so truly earned, we want to ensure that you and your loved ones can cherish every moment.

The hooding ceremony, a special rite of passage marking the achievement of your advanced degree, will take place in the Graduate Recognition Hall at the Shrine Auditorium. During this pre-commencement ceremony event, you will be hooded by our esteemed faculty, who welcome you as new colleagues in your discipline. The hooding exercise will be live-streamed and each of you will receive a personalized clip of your hooding moment. This video will be perfect for sharing with family, friends, and on social media, so you can share your joy as you mark this monumental achievement.

Following the hooding, you’ll make your way into the auditorium for the Commencement program where each graduate will proudly cross the stage wearing their hood while their name and degree title are announced and presented on the big screens. Each graduate will receive their diploma cover and take a picture with President Eanes.

I am confident that you and your families will enjoy the elegance of the Shrine Auditorium as we honor you and your academic achievements at Commencement 2026.

Always our Golden Eagles!

Warm regards,

Dr. Karin Elliott Brown
Associate Vice President for Faculty Success and Dean of Graduate Studies
