Mohammad A. Auwal (Ph.D., 1994, Ohio University) has been a full professor in the Department of Communication Studies since 2006. He joined California State University, Los Angeles as an assistant professor in 1994. He has taught and conducted research at four international universities on visiting missions. During the 2008-2010 academic years, he served as a Fulbright scholar at Qatar University, Qatar.
Dr. Kristina Ruiz-Mesa is a Professor of Communication Studies and the Basic Course Director for COMM 1100: Oral Communication at California State University, Los Angeles.
Dr. Kevin Baaske is a professor in the Department of Communication Studies. He is an active member of the University community and currently serves as the Secretary of the campus Academic Senate. On the CSU system level, he is one of two Cal State LA faculty representatives to the Academic Senate of the California State University. He also the 2017-2018 Chair of the CSU Chancellor's General Education Advisory Committee.

James Ford joined the Department of Music faculty in 2003. He teaches studio trumpet and courses in jazz studies. He is the current director of the CSULA Jazz Orchestra.
