Camila Bautista Receives Farvolden Best Poster Award

Camila Bautista, a graduate student pursuing an MS in Environmental Science in the GGE Department and a student affiliate at the Borderlands Center, won the Farvolden Best Poster Award at the 2023 Annual Meeting of the National Ground Water Association. Her poster, titled "Hydrogeologic Inputs to Emerging Wetlands on the Shores of the Receding Salton Sea, California", earned a $1,000 prize. For MS thesis research, Camila is using environmental isotopes to identify the water sources feeding into the Bombay Beach Wetlands on the northeastern side of the Salton Sea.
