Cal State LA is excited to offer a 9-week summer research experience for undergraduates (REU) program for early-stage undergraduate and community college students with limited experience in independent research in the fields of chemistry and biochemistry. This program is sponsored by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the National Science Foundation. We are now accepting applications for Summer 2024! Complete your online application to participate today. You will need to first create an account on the NSF ETAP website to apply for the workshop. Thank you for your interest in our program.

Student Experience

Summer Research

Undergraduate students participate in summer research projects mentored by Cal State LA Chemistry and Biochemistry faculty.

Professional Development

Student participants engage in weekly professional development workshops, such as Preparing your CV and Effective Coping Strategies.

Community Building

Students build a sense of community through extramural activities, culminating in a poster presentation during the Summer Research Symposium, at the end of the summer.
