This data reflects the number of individuals who have notified the University of their diagnosis.
Our COVID-19 Compliance Task Force works with the Los Angeles Department of Public Health to follow up with confirmed cases and reaches out to all persons who are identified as having had close contact with a person who tested positive to provide quarantine instructions and information about COVID-19 testing. If you are not contacted, it means that you were not identified as having been exposed.

Since March 2020, there have been 2,265 COVID-19 cases among students and employees reported to Cal State LA: 1246 students, 980 employees and 41 contractors. This data reflects the number of individuals who have notified the university of their diagnosis.
To the best of our knowledge, of the 1246 students, 643 had the virus during a period of time when they were on campus or in instructional activity. Of the 980 employees with a diagnosis, 565 had the virus during a period of time they were on campus. The contractors were working at construction sites on campus when they were diagnosed.
