Once ITS enables ChatGPT Edu, you will receive an email invite from OpenAI to join the Cal State LA’s ChatGPT Edu Workspace. You will be prompted to decide how you want to transition your existing data.

  1. Transfer your existing chat history and GPTs - This option will merge your current chat history and settings into the new university-provided workspace.

  1. Export and delete your existing chat history - This option allows you to export your data and start fresh, making it easier to create a separate personal account if desired.

  • Selecting option 2 will result in the loss of access to your Custom GPTs after migration.
