Message from the Dean of the College of Business and Economics, Dr. Tye Jackson: “Dr. Jongwook Woo has been a faculty member at Cal State LA for 18 years in the College of Business and Economics’ (CBE) Department of Information Systems at Cal State LA. He has successfully mentored students of which one received the best paper award at The 14th Asia Pacific International Conference on Information Science and Technology (APIC-IST 2019). Dr. Woo is a noted scholar and has published articles on big data and data science. Recently, his faculty-student team research received recognition. The research team created an interactive data visualization dashboard that forecasts the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths by region in the U.S. and around the world. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Jongwook Woo as this year’s CBE’s Faculty Mentor Honoree.”
