I have both B.A. and B.S. degrees, and an M.A. in Music from UCLA (1976). In the late 1970s I had adjunct positions teach at a few local junior colleges. With lack of solid academic employment opportunities I opted to take on ordinary IT positions starting in 1981; returning to UCLA to complete my Ph.D. made little sense under the circumstances.
