The Faculty Hoteling spaces are designed for faculty as a temporary work area and used for their office hours. The two spaces are located in King Hall (KH B4006) and Simpson Tower (ST 512).
It is inappropriate for faculty to hold classes or group sessions in this space. If a faculty member needs a larger space to accommodate a group of students, please reach out to your department coordinator for assistance.
Policies
- Room Access. Fill out and submit the online Faculty Hoteling Space Request form and submit it before the beginning of each semester. It may take a few days to process. The room’s door uses a card reader and 4-digit PIN to unlock. It is only accessible with your campus ID card and PIN setup with the Golden Eagle OneCard office. You will be granted access to the spaces for one semester at a time. Please review the instructions on how to use your OneCard to open the door: Door Access Instructions. For problems related to One Card access after being notified you have access, please contact the GE OneCard office at x3-6800 or go to the Student Services Building, room 2232.
- Lockers. After you have access to the room, note the locker # you want to use and contact the Office of Planning and Budget to reserve the locker # at [email protected]. Lockers are available for your use on a reservation basis for each term and are on a first come first served basis. You will need to provide your own lock. Remove you lock and belongings before the term ends. During semester break, all locks will be cut. Items from these lockers will be removed and given to campus police. The University is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
- Desks and Tables. All desks and tables are on a first come first served basis. Do not leave personal items on desks or in drawers. Be respectful of other people’s belongings. The University is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
- Computers. All computers are on a first come first served basis. Login to the computer with your Cal State LA ID (not email) and password. The computers are networked to the copier for printing (For ST 512, GlobalProtect VPN login is required before printing).
- Copying, Scanning, and Printing. Read the posted instructions on the wall by the copier on how to make copies and scans, as well as how to print from the computer. The Golden Eagle One Card will charge your department for all your print, copy and scans, so be mindful of your usage. Printing from your personal laptop/tablet to the printer is not available, so save your document to USB or cloud storage and use the desktop PCs to print.
- Printer issues and paper. If the copier/printer runs out of paper or if the printer has errors/issues, call or email the Office of Planning and Budget at x3-3802 ([email protected]) to report the problem.
- Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is available throughout the suite.
- Phone. The phone is intended for internal campus calls only. There is no attendant to answer incoming calls. Please dial 3 first and then the four-digit extension for all campus calls. The phone cannot dial outside campus numbers or dial international calls.
- Refrigerator. Label your food in the fridge. Before the term ends, remove your food items from the fridge. All food items in the fridge will be thrown away during semester break.
- Microwave. KHB4006 only. Remove aluminum foil (if any) from your container. Use a cover (paper towel, container lid) to cover your container when using the microwave. Do not put in steel/metal containers. Clean the microwave after each use.
- General Questions. Call or email the Office of Planning and Budget at x3-3802 ([email protected]).
