2021-2022 WELLNESS INTERN APPLICATION
The primary focus of this internship is to provide basic needs support to students through Cal State LA’s CalFresh Outreach (CFO) program. Interns also support other wellness/basic needs activities and services, including the Food Pantry.
What is CalFresh Outreach at Cal State LA?
CalFresh, California’s version of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), supports the nutritional needs of residents of California in low-income households by providing funds to purchase groceries each month.
The CalFresh Outreach program at Cal State LA helps students to know about and apply for CalFresh. Research and student stories have shown that many Cal State LA students are struggling with food insecurity and may be eligible for the assistance that CalFresh benefits provide.
