CAPS Assessment 22-23

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) assessed the results of a Patient Satisfaction Survey.

144 students completed the survey.

The Student Health Center (SHC)/CAPS Patient Satisfaction Survey provides information about how students experience their access to mental health/counseling services and how this impacts their well-being, including their academic functioning.

Of the 144 participants who completed the 2022-2023 Student Health Center Patient Satisfaction Survey (questions 1-10 were related to CAPS):

  • 85% were either very satisfied or satisfied with the care and services provided at CAPS.
  • 25% felt CAPS helped address an existing condition
  • 23% felt CAPS helped address stress associated with school and/or family
  • 75% wanted more in-person counseling
  • 25% want telehealth services

The data will be shared among the CAPS and SHC team. We plan to discuss the findings, discuss best practices, and next steps in how to address the increased demand for ongoing in-person sessions while still providing telehealth services as there is still a need for this as well.
