For 2021-22 Assessment, Athletics examined Eddie Games. The program allowed the student-athletes to engage, build, and develop personal and social relationships amongst the Athletics department.

Connection to Domain

After returning from the pandemic, most of the student-athletes were new and did not have any sense of belonging within the athletic department or their respective teams. The activities allowed student-athletes to use many student learning outcomes. Intellectual skills, verbal information, and motor skills were needed to complete the activities successfully.

Analysis

Seventeen students participated in Eddie Games. Although the program was successful, we issued the survey after the event and did not collect enough data. Most of those who completed the survey indicated that they liked the event and would like to engage with their peers more.

Next Steps

Two students tied together at their legs make their way down a grassy field.

Athletics will continue to develop Eddie Games. The program can be executed at the beginning of the academic year to establish camaraderie and a sense of pride in Golden Eagle Athletics.
