ASI's Financial Literacy workshops focus on students' well-being as it pertains to money management. ASI invited executives from JP Morgan/Chase Bank and Cal State LA faculty to talk to students about financial management skills, including managing debt, credit cards, and making large purchases for cars and homes.

90+ students attended the event where they engaged with presenters and topics.

Managing and understanding personal financial strategies is a critical tool for college-age students who are entering the workforce. Many of our students receive financial aid, which may include loans that impact one's financial situation for years to come. ASI's Financial Literacy workshops focus on students' well-being as it pertains to money management. Having a strong grasp of one's financial situation is empowering and is a valuable life skill that students will use throughout their lifetime.

Understanding and development of personal financial management skills.

ASI invited executives from JP Morgan/Chase Bank and Cal State LA faculty to present to the students and talk about financial management skills including managing debt, credit cards, and making large purchases for cars and homes. The students were engaged throughout the program, asked questions, and provided verbal feedback that they enjoyed the speakers and appreciated the information. Based on the feedback and observations, the program was a success.

This is a highly important and relevant topic for students and ASI will continue to offer programs that focus on this area of well-being. We will use the feedback from students gathered at the program and incorporate current student needs in future programs to provide the greatest benefit to those who choose to attend the program in the future.
