Research Interests

  • Development of inorganic and organometallic photosensitizers
  • Photochemistry and photophysics of photosensitizers attached to nanomaterials.
  • Synthesis, characterization, and reactivity of peroxidic species and reactive intermediates.
  • Mechanistic study of ligand oxidation (especially thiolate ligands) and oxidation of selected biomolecules.
  • Exploration of the inorganic and organometallic chemistry of singlet oxygen.
  • Climatology, especially long-term cycles in Southern California.
