Great! Once you have completed the training requirement, we will be notified, and we notify your instructor. We suggest you take a screenshot or download the certificate for your records in case of a glitch in the system.
Please make sure you are logged into your My Cal State LA portal before going to the Student Laboratory Safety Training Webpage. If you need any further assistance, please contact our RMEHS Training Coordinator.
No, safety trainings are required once a year. If a student took the safety training back in August for the Fall semester, the training is still valid for the Spring semester. Training would need to be renewed in August for the following semesters and vice versa if the training was initially taken in the spring.
Some courses may require additional safety trainings, your instructor will provide you with the name of the training. Access this training on the 'RMEHS Additional Safety Trainings' website.
You do not need to but it is always good for you to have it for your records or in case your professor asks for proof.
Yes, safety trainings are accessible via the 'Student Laboratory Safety Training' Webpage 24/7. If the semester has already started, please complete the mandatory safety training(s) as soon as possible. Failure to complete the training will delay participation in campus lab/activities and may negatively impact your grade in your course.
Your professor may ask you for proof of safety training completion for their records. When you access the training portal, you can select the vertical ellipses to the right of the course name. From there you can select the ‘View Certificate’ option where a pop-up should appear. You can then 'Print or Print to PDF' and provide a copy to your professor. See the image below for reference:
