Hazard Assessment on RSS

Hazard assessments for areas are vital for ensuring safety compliance, preventing injuries, and minimizing environmental impact. They identify risks, guide resource allocation, enhance emergency preparedness, and fulfill legal obligations. Overall, hazard assessments foster a culture of continuous improvement in laboratory safety.

Please note that areas that are classified as a laboratory or an activity space will require a hazard assessment to be completed. All hazard assessments require that there is a responsible person(s) or Principal Investigator (PI) who is in charge of the space and understands the work that in done in the area.

Hazard Assessment Process for RSS.

  1. Creation of hazard assessment.
  2. Answering hazard questionnaire.
  3. Submittal and hazard identification.
  4. Group member email notification for hazard assessment acknowledgment.
  5. After all members acknowledge the hazard assessment is considered complete.
