Miles Peterson

Dr. Peterson has been a faculty member at California State University, Los Angeles since 1987, serving as Department Chair and Director of the Hearing Clinic.

    Michael Haussler

     

    I am a teacher. Besides teaching graduate education classes at Cal State LA, I tutor young students in many subject areas. My relationship with Cal State is long and rich. I received my history degrees here. I helped pioneer the Cal State-Marshall Fundamental Partnership Program, bringing middle and high school  students to the campus for summer immersion classes. 

    Mitch Fryling (he/him/his)

    INTRODUCTION

    Mitch received his B.S. and M.A. in Psychology from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI, and his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno, and is currently associate dean in the College of Education. Mitch was previously a lecturer, professor, associate chair, chair, and interim dean at Cal State LA. Mitch's scholarly interests are diverse, including both applied/clinical and theoretical/philosophical areas.

    Dr. Mary A. Falvey

    INTRODUCTION

    Dr. Mary A. Falvey is a Professor of Special Education, with an expertise in Moderate to Severe Disabilities and Inclusive Education in the Division of Special Education and Counseling. She joined the faculty of the Charter College of Education in 1980.  From 2004-2005 Dr. Falvey served as the Director of the Office for Student Services in the Charter College of Education and from 2005 – 2012 served as the Dean of the Charter College of Education at CSULA.

    Mario Castaneda

     

     

    INTRODUCTION

    Dr. Castaneda is an educational practitioner who has been a teacher, counselor, coordinator, and curriculum and staff development specialist. He has taught both pre- and post-service teachers at various universities and colleges throughout California and Colorado.


    TEACHING INTERESTS

    Dr. Castaneda's areas of interest include : social sciences, second language acquisition, Sheltered English for the secondary classroom, and cross-cultural and multicultural education.

    Martin Brodwin

     

    INTRODUCTION

    After high school graduation, I attended UCLA where I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. My Master of Science Degree is in counseling from California State University, Los Angeles. This degree gave me the interest to pursue a doctorate. I received my Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling from Michigan State University. This education background gave me the skills to work as the Coordinator of Research at the world-renowned Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center in Downey, California.
