Marianne JamesWelcome to the Department of Accounting!

Our experienced faculty provide an AACSB-accredited education that imparts the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare students for challenging careers, the CPA exam, and other accounting-related professional certifications. We offer hybrid and online delivery of many core and elective courses. Through our extra-curricular opportunities students develop the interpersonal skills that are now vital to any workplace. Whether you seek a bachelors or master’s degree in accountancy or are planning to minor or earn a certificate in accounting, our programs enable graduates to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in todays’ global business environment.

A Commitment to Community and Professional Development

The Accounting Department sponsors networking and community service events including the annual Meet-the-Firms event and our more than 10 year participation in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.  Students participating in the VITA program provide free tax preparation services to low income families and individuals in the local community.

We also sponsor three student organizations – Accounting SocietyALPFA, and BAP.  Highly active and involved in providing networking, internship and professional development opportunities, both BAP and ALPFA have been recognized with national and regional awards.

Our graduates are represented across all industries and areas of accounting from the Big 4 accounting firms and national and regional firms to government agencies and non-profit organizations. With our commitment to excellence in teaching, collaboration with business, and service to the Greater L.A. community, we look forward to helping you achieve your academic and professional goals!
