The Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development includes a choice among four options:
* Option I, General Option, prepares students to work as teachers and administrators in early childhood settings. Option 1 also prepares students to work as parent educators, personnel in youth agencies and as child life specialists in medical settings.
* Option II, Elementary Subject Matter Program is a California Commission on Teacher Credentialing-approved Elementary Teacher Preparation Program for the California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
* Option III, the Blended Elementary Subject Matter Teacher Preparation program is designed for students to complete the undergraduate degree program simultaneously with requirements for either a California Multiple Subject Training or Special Education Internship Credential.
*Option IV, the Elementary Subject Matter: Directed Electives program is designed for community college transfer students who are certified in General Education for the California State University system and decide to pursue a career requiring an elementary school teaching credential. Students are asked to take the CSET exam in order to determine specific electives for the degree.
