Career Center

As a freshman on campus, I attended one of the Career Development Center's bi-annual career fairs, which draws employers from across the county and industries. I impressed some of the recruiters there because I was bold, eager and confidant, willing to attend a career fair even as a freshman. This really paid off; I landed the internship that I still have, with the L.A. Department of Water and Power.

The lesson here is to start thinking about your future career plans as early - and as often - as possible. Career counselors, resume workshops and the fairs at the Career Development Center will help you get a head start.
