Pat Brown Institute hosts L.A. County Supervisorial Candidates’ Debate

Sheila Kuehl and Bobby Shriver face off in Santa Monica

LOS ANGELES -- The Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs at Cal State L.A., the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles Education Fund, the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles County, and KABC-TV will co-sponsor a candidates’ debate for the County of Los Angeles 3rd Supervisorial District. The debate will be held Friday, October 17, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage, 1310 11th Street, Santa Monica, 90401. Click here for a map.

The County of Los Angeles has a population of 10.2 million people and 4.8 million voters within its 47- square-mile boundaries. The public is invited to attend this unique opportunity to hear Sheila Kuehl and Bobby Shriver debate transportation, jails, health care, and other issues.

"This is a critical election that may well chart the county's direction for years to come. We hope this debate will clarify the difficult choice ahead for the voters," said Raphael Sonenshein, executive director of the Pat Brown Institute. 

The live stream of the debate can be seen at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 17, on www.abc7.com and on the ABC7 news app. KABC-TV will air the debate again Sunday, October 19, at noon.
