Two Cal State L.A. alumni and a faculty member have been nominated for the Emmy Awards.
Nominations for the 67th Emmy® Awards were announced during a Thursday ceremony hosted by the Television Academy.
Cal State L.A. alumnus Ed Horton, who was a camera operator for the TV special “The Oscars,” was nominated for an Emmy in the category of outstanding technical direction, camerawork, video control for a limited series, movie or a special.
Alumnus Julian Gomez, who is an editor and sound editor for World Race Productions, Inc., received an Emmy nomination in the outstanding picture editing for reality programming category for the “Morocc’ and Roll” episode of CBS’ The Amazing Race.
Professor Jane McKeever, who is co-owner of the post-production company, HF2 Productions: Happy Feet Foley, picked up two Emmy nominations for the popular HBO series, “Game of Thrones,” and a Starz original series, “Black Sails.” Both “Game of Thrones” and “Black Sails” were nominated in the category of outstanding sound editing for a series.
A number of other alumni and faculty from the University’s College of Arts and Letters have previously been nominated for and awarded Emmy Awards.
The 67th Emmy Awards telecast airs live coast to coast on Sunday, September 20 (8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT) on FOX from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
